Saturday 29th Jan 2011 Pete came over to my place this afternoon to lend an extra pair of ears to the mixing of all the tracks we’d recorded at The Dugout. I had the house to myself so it made sense to make the most of the peace and quiet. I set up the Boss BR-600 in the living room with the monitor speakers (wish I’d taken a photo now) and the process began. It’s…[more]
On Wednesday 19th January 2011 we went back in to the studio with the sole intention of getting our new song ‘Head of Dreams’ recorded. Experience has shown that it’s always worth taking your time over these sort of things. If you rush, you make mistakes. The plan is to record over two nights. Night one involved getting the drum track laid. This gives us a solid foundation to build the rest of the song…[more]
Forget X Factor, don’t even bother looking at the music charts, our own song ‘The Other Part Of Me’ is now available as a download for a mere 75p on http://thecrush.bandcamp.com. If you haven’t yet heard it live, get it on your iPod, phone or PC and come and catch us playing somewhere near you. Come and say hello and we might even do a dedication.

The band plays the whole song together and that is recorded on to a stereo track using a Boss BR-600 2. Jamie then lays down the drum track on to a new stereo track on the Br-600 whilst listening to the original recording through headphones. As…[more]
This is where the fun begins. I got a Boss BR-600 in May/June of 2010 as I had loads of ideas for songs but no real way of getting them recorded. I didn’t know whether to go for the BR-600 or the BR-900 but after a good chat with the ultra helpful (and very knowledgeable) chaps at Nevada Music I settled on the 600. After getting it home and having a play around it quickly…[more]
Here it is! Our first couple of demo tracks. They may be a little rough around the edges but keep in mind that it was recorded using an old dictaphone and the 8-track out of Pete’s Cortina. Let us know what you think. Click here to listen.
